My Bio
I'll give you one guess as to the truthfulness of my "real name." Aliases are fun; some of the most famous and well-known names are not given at birth.
Anyway, I will say I'm incredibly interested in Daniel Remar's freeware game Iji, which indirectly pushed me to DeviantART membership. Very little that gets uploaded here will not be related to Iji. I've quite the ambitious project in store; you may find a youtube link somewhere on my page at some point.

Favourite Movies
Star Wars, Star Trek, almost anything Disney...
Favourite TV Shows
LOTS of anime, Star Trek, classic cartoons (wow, I sound cool)
Favourite Bands / Musical Artists
Simon and Garfunkel, the Beatles, Hans Zimmer, John Williams
Favourite Books
Artemis Fowl series, Dragonlance novels
Favourite Games
Iji, anything Zelda... I can't begin to list my interests here.
Favourite Gaming Platform
Probably PC, but my new 3DS is growing on me.
Tools of the Trade
Blender3D, GIMP, Game Maker (I use its built-in graphics editor in place of MS Paint)
Other Interests
Programming, music composition (lightly), things that are epic.... yeah, I'm one of the cool kids. Can't you tell?
So, I had already known that a model's faces and edges should be arranged to flow in a way that pretty much matches the muscle structure of whatever you're modeling (for organic things, anyway), or what the muscle structure would be if your organism actually existed (*cough*Komato*cough*).  But, after looking at some topology videos to get some specifics for a project that has effectively devoured all of my Blender time until next Monday (mandatory project; no way around it, and then there's a non-personal project that takes priority immediately afterward, though that's mostly through with), I have a much better understanding of how things sh

After lots of mulling over what was making my Komato so difficult to deform and lots of videos over 3D topology and mastering it, I've decided that the topology of the Komato Trooper's legs is awful.  Yes, I know I was going to focus on cleaner topology in the first place, but I didn't realize how screwed up the legs looked without subsurfaces turned on.  It's not as bad as some of the Tasen meshes, but it's bad enough for me to consider re-topo-ing it.  I'll do that, then re-rig the Trooper, and hopefully things will work out smoother. Unfortunately, I also have lots of stuff coming this week, and probably in following weeks, so work on thi

As it turns out, I really haven't dealt with rigging any complex sub-surfaced models before, so I'm running into these problems I've never had to deal with before.  Anything that, for the Tasen, would look a little awkward but still worked, for the Komato looks very awkward and doesn't work at all.  It's mostly in the legs, which gave me trouble with the Tasen as well, but there's even an extra joint for the Komato -_-  I'm working through these problems, but it's taking longer than I thought.

Dude, I used some of your models as a reffrence to the Tasen, just to let you know.

Thanks much
Really? Glad to be of assistance. What sort of references, by the way?
Well it was really hard to draw the tazen in a more 3D fashion, and your models were a great help. I'll message you when the picture is done.
Aight, sounds cool. As mentioned in my journals (it's been a few months), I'm actually going to go back and redo all of my Tasen models. Don't worry, nothing much is going to change. They're mostly going to be smoother. The only three changes I can think of are geometry changes in the feet, torso, and head, but the general shape for all of them will remain the same. I've learned a few new modeling techniques since I made those, and I realized those parts were terribly sloppy. It'll be the kind of change that makes you say, "wow, that looks a lot smoother. It's like everything's more smooth. Especially the torso, I can tell he made it more... smooth." :P unless you know about 3D modeling, that's almost all you'll be able to put your finger on, just because the changes will be so small ^_^

But we're talking after the Komato, here, so... it'll be a while.
